High Functioning Depression and Its Relationship to Burnout.Burnout is a state of emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion caused by excessive and prolonged stress, traditionally occurring in the workplace, but it also impacts those working from home or raising a family. .While burnout and high-functioning depression are distinct conditions, they can be related, and there is an overlap in symptoms. Insecurity about one’s abilities, intellect, and accomplishments, and fear that his or her perceived inadequacies will be exposed, is a very common phenomenon. It’s called imposter syndrome. It is a serious form of self-doubt that often goes hand-in-hand with feelings of anxiety and depression. Some of the treatments for those mental health issues can also help you tame imposter syndrome, but for starters, consider taking the following steps:➡️ Discuss your feelings periodically with a trusted mentor to get perspective and clarity.➡️ Record, revisit, and reflect on positive feedback you’ve received.➡️ Challenge yourself to reframe the words of your internal critic by considering how you would want others to appreciate positive feedback from you.👉 Do you struggle with imposter syndrome? What has helped you to change your mindset and overcome self-doubt?#ImposterSyndrome #Insecurity #OvercomeSelfDoubt #ExcellenceUnscripted #KeynoteSpeaker #MotivationalSpeaker

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. It makes me ponder once again why mental health receives so much less recognition than physical health. If your colleague broke their leg, you'd likely send a card, flowers, or even visit them. But what happens if your peer is suffering from burnout or depression? Often, our response is silence. We leave them to navigate their struggles alone, despite it can be as painful as any physical injury. If not more. Why not break the silence? Send a text to that colleague asking how they are doing.#mentalhealth #workplacewellbeing #burnout
